Katherine Scoleri founded SafeMama.com in 2007 as a way to keep track of issues that concerned her after having her first child. News of BPA in baby products and lead in toys sent her into research mode to find out what to buy that was safe for her son. She decided that she must not be the only mother out there spending countless hours researching, so she put it all into one site online to share what she found with other parents. Having everything in one place helped her, and soon was helping thousands of other parents. SafeMama.com has since become the “go-to” site for moms and dads to find out what’s safe for their kids. Katherine created cheat sheets for everything she researched, which she is now known for and continues to nurture. The cheat sheets cover sunscreen, lunch gear, skin & bath care products, toys, sippy cups, dishes, and more. Katherine is now the mother of two boys, aged 3 and 6, and devotes as much of her time as she can to helping parents find the safest products for their families.
